May Alter Holocaust History?

The headline on this Yahoo! News story said that Torture Tales May Alter Holocaust History. How? To make us feel some type of empathy for Dr. Mengele? To make us want to set up a fund for the Nazi concentration camp guards since they were killed and beaten by the prisoners after their liberation? The headline should have been "Holocaust Torture Testimonies Confirm Evil of Nazis" or "Nazi Torture Victims' Testimonies Confirm That Saddam Evil Like Hitler". Thankfully, the US pretty well ran the Nuremburg War Trials. Hopefully, the Iraqi version will start soon.

Um. The article quite clearly stated that the group that sent out the call for testaments received far more than they had expected. Not just a little more. A LOT more. This, in spite of the fact that the experiments ended nearly 60 years ago, and many victims have died, and many refuse to come forward. The change is that the medical experiments were more far-reaching than anyone knew, which is rather an important discovery. Posted by: Meryl Yourish at January 27, 2004 11:45 PM
