MLK Stripers

I've gotten permission from the wife for an striper trip in January. MLK weekend seems the best, as I doubt I'll get permission to go over New Year's, and the Solunar tables predict that fishing that Friday, Saturday and Sunday ought to be pretty good.

I'm thinking Ocracoke, as there's more to do there if the weather is bad, and it's easier to get to the north side of the island if the wind is bad for the south. Also, according to the archives, there are stripers to be had there in January.

Who's in?

First time visitor to House Hraka? Wondering if everything we produce could possibly be as brilliant/stupid/evil/pedantic/insipid/inspired as the post you just read? Check out the Hraka Essentials, the (mostly) reader-selected guide to Hraka's best posts, and decide for yourself.

I'm in no matter where we go. Do you think Tradewinds would be open at this time? If not, how'd we get bait? I'll have to see what's going on with work but should probably be able to make it!

right now i don't think i would have a problem, but i need to check with laura and see what she has on tap for the weekend. are you looking at getting the small house on silver lake, or another option?

Depends on the # of people who want to go. I'll also make sure Tradewinds will be open.

My Dad might go, another Methodist preacher. He's as much interested in catching speckled trout as stripers. Plus there would also be a 19 foot Sea Pro to take if we wanted to go in the inlet and cast metal, troll plugs or cast bucktail jigs for stripers. Of course, Dad has this no alcohol rule on the boat. Curt would probably make it as well. Looks like good numbers.
