My God, We Live In A Golden Age Of Man

The perfect complement to the thermo-electric keg blanket--the self-chilling beer can.

Trials showed that on average, the temperature of the liquid in the can fell 16C when the system was activated. Drinks stayed cool for up to an hour. The cans are already being tested by two large British brewers, who hope to have them on sale before the end of the summer.

First time visitor to House Hraka? Wondering if everything we produce could possibly be as brilliant/stupid/evil/pedantic/insipid/inspired as the post you just read? Check out the Hraka Essentials, the (mostly) reader-selected guide to Hraka's best posts, and decide for yourself.

Thankyou, Thankyou, Thankyou, Thankyou.

Although a case can be made by my wife that I drink beer to fast for it to get cold.

I know all of us don't care anyway. Look, at the end of the day and all the ice is melted, what's left? Warm beer. Now, who among us would say: "Warm beer, not for me, I think I'll have a soda!". None of us. We'd fight a cobia for warm beer if that's all that's left. Now I'll grant you very few of our brews are out long enough to get warm. Of course, there's always Mr Fancy Pants who drinks some of his beers warm (or I guess I should say at room temperature, after proper time for "breathing"). Speaking of beers, last night I knoocked off quite a few of the "Champagne of Beers". Yes, I did enjoy the High Life. Not too bad, but sure did fill me up quicker than it's cousin, Miller Lite. Got a few buckets on ice for $1 a bottle, 6 to a bucket. Ummmmmm Good!!
