Introductions

Frank Rich.

Not even the most unhinged Bush hater is calling our all-volunteer army "baby killers."

Meet Google. It's a part of the "Internet," which you may have heard of. Here's some of what it found.

Mother's Speak.

Recently, in a restaurant where a group of soldiers shared a table, a woman nearby was talking loud enough that all could hear her – and the soldiers could hear her references to “those baby killers in Iraq.” A young mother carrying her child approached the loud-voice woman and said she was offended by the talk: “My husband is fighting in Iraq so that you can enjoy a nice meal in this place, worry-free. He’s fighting for me, for our child, for you, for all of our children.” After the loud woman left the restaurant, the soldiers approached the young mother and thanked her for her support.

Our Heroic Baby-Killers in Iraq

American Soldiers Have Become Baby Killers In Iraq

Elmer Fudd Goes to War

Elmer ignores utterly the news reports of real fascist baby killers in Iraq driving real "Hummers" getting their clocks cleaned by the good guys: the Iraqi freedom fighters that are fighting for their lives, their children's lives, their country, and their country's oil.

So while the United States and its soldiers is busy committing atrocities in Iraq, driving "Hummers" that the good guys are blowing up every day with ease and impunity, Elmer Fudd is back here in the United States playing pretend soldier thinking he's a Bad Boy Baby Killer who be one tough mother, indeed!

There's more, there's always more. Don't sweat it, Frank. Everyone realizes that your concern for the American soldier is rhetorical in nature, a position you've assumed so that you can snipe at the Bush administration in comfort. No one expects that you'll pretend to support the troops one second after it becomes inconvenient for you to do so.

See, the liberal people who would call our soldiers "Baby Killers" would generally have no problem supporting abortion. I'd love to see a bunch of soldiers picketing an abortion clinic toting signs that read "Baby Killers".

In the immortal words of Val Kilmer's Doc Holiday in "Tombstone": "My hypocrisy knows no bounds".

I wonder if Rich's definition of "support the troops" includes anything that could be inconvenient for him.

Taking apart a Frank Rich column is like shooting fish in a barrel. And I'm always amazed that his screeds are considered "on the arts." I haven't checked in with Frank in a couple weeks. Fisking his columns was so easy I felt I was just being lazy by doing so.

Until tomorrow, I'm a single parent of two. I haven't got time for the hard stuff. :)
