Still A Yellow Dog--So Far

Come the North Carolina Primary, I'm voting for Joe.

"Hallelujah, praise the Lord.  This is something that I have been advocating and praying for for more than twelve years, since the Gulf War of 1991.  Saddam Hussein was a homicidal maniac, a brutal dictator, who wanted to dominate the Arab world and was supporting terrorists.

He caused the death of more than a million people, including 460 Americans who went to overthrow him.  This is a day of glory for the American military, a day of rejoicing for the Iraqi people, and a day of triumph and joy for anyone in the world who cares about freedom, human rights, and peace.

And if he gets the nomination, I'll vote for him over Bush. I'll vote for Howard Dean when Hell freezes over.

No, scratch that. I'll vote for Howard Dean when Hell freezes over, frogs rain from the sky, and the denizens of Alpha Centauri give me an FTL drive for my birthday.

'Cause when you have an FTL drive, who cares who the President is?

I'm thinking of registering as a Democrat so I can vote for Lieberman in the spring.

Interesting.... a NC Yellow Dog NOT pulling for Edwards? Go Joe Go.

Posted by: oceanguy at December 15, 2003 07:59 AM

I don't particularly like the politics of any of the Dems running. But the only one I'd trust at the controls of the national security apparatus is Lieberman. I believe he sees foreign threats for what they are, and our no-account "allies" in Western Europe for what they are too.

You may find this interesting, but I'd trust Hilary! to watch over us as well. She's not a likeable person, and a lot of her policy ideas are kind of atrocious, but I think she has a good bit of Momma Pit Bull in her. As a matter of fact, I think she might be preferable in some ways to Bush. Had she been at the helm on 9/11, I'm pretty confident that Saudi Arabia would be smoking rubble by now.

And like they say:

Taking out Afghanistan: $23 Billion.

Knocking off Saddam Hussein, rebuilding a secular Arab State: $87 Billion a year.

Turning Riyadh into a pile of rubble, in which not one brick remains upon another: Priceless.

You also missed the money shot in that quote. Right after the part you cite, Lieberman said:

"And if Howard Dean was President, Saddam Hussein would still be in power."

Badda bing!

Any criteria for the other Dem candidates? Rain/sleet mix in hell before Kerry, pigs flying before Clark, cold fusion before Edwards, economical anti-gravity shield before Kucinich, unified theory of quantum mechanics/gravity before Sharpton?

Just curious.

What about his whole "War" on Junk Food?

Posted by: Inscrutable American at December 15, 2003 06:17 PM

Hey, what can I say.

McDonalds lied, fat people died.

Hey hey, ho ho, your high fat twinkies have got to go.

One to three four, we don't want your racist smores.

I'd go for Hillary before any of the candidates now running for the Dems. Lieberman next. Not that I like her domestic politics much but, then again, I don't much like Bush's either.
That said, I'll still take him over any of the Democrats, including Hillary (and she's too smart to run against an incumbent anyway).

Oh, and I don't speak for my co-blogger, MommaBear, who absolutely despises Hillary. (We agree on many things but not all.)
