The Daily Bleep

All day long I fretted during my numerous and varied activities. "Haven't read the news, don't know what's going on. Not going to have any time to post. Not going to have anything to post about, anyway, haven't read the news."

Well, now I have read the news. And according to the news, things are mostly boring, as if the entire world has decided that August gets to come early this year. Even the requisite daily quagmire articles seem to just be going through the motions. Now, obviously it's a much more interesting world if one happens to be in Iraq, or Liberia, or any of the dozen other horribly non-boring places in the world, but it's as if everyone else has looked out on the day, decided that it was to hot to think and decamped en masse to the the bar.

And, once everyone had their drink, mint julep for me, thank you very much, we spent all day discussing our health, television and sex. Look at Yahoo's most emailed news stories, which as of midnight was top heavy with the kinds of things local anchors fill the newscasts with on a slow day.

Eating Fish May Cut Alzheimer's Risk - Then why don't the fish ever remember me?

Discontent Americans Consider Canada - Seen that one before. Needed an editor then, too.

Study: Eating Fish, Nuts Wards Off Alzheimer's - Reuters, still afraid to put the words "Oral Sex" into a headline.

Pizza Cuts Cancer Risk? - How clumsy do you have to be to get cut by a pizza?

FDA Reconsiders Ban on Breast Implants - Another legislative victory for Bodyperks.

Fans Roll to 'Big Lebowski' Fest in Ky - Shortage of Astrolube, apparently.

"Queer Eye" Spies NBC Slot - Does this mean NBC's a bottom?

Mold in Home May Mean Baby Breathing Problems - Messy housekeepers can now smoke free from fear of blame.

Tree-Eating Beetle Poses Threat in U.S. - Well, where is he?

Gay TV Ad Shows Tide Turns for Marketers - Homosexuals no longer stuck in Fruit of the Loom ghetto.

Hanks, Spielberg Take on Imperial Japan - Filming on Schindrel's Wrist starts Tuesday.

Obviously, I haven't got anything either. Have a picture, instead.

Heck, have two.

The wife's a little worried about the nose. I'm more worried about the the seemingly genetic "must open mouth when confronted with camera" tendency.

What charming children. Once tamed, they would make someone good pets. Uh, I mean, lovely pictures.
